The Overview!

Fueling The Transition To Renewable Power.

Obadore in Ondo State Southwest Nigeria was identified by ACOB Lighting Technology in a close cluster to another 100kWp Mini-Grid Asset by ACOB. ACOB Lighting Technology developed a 40kW (Phase1) Solar-DG Hybrid Rural Electrification project for Obadore Community (N 6 48’ 42.14”, E 4 30’ 59.09”) in Odigbo LGA of Ondo State which is 12km away from the National Grid at Kajola along Lagos-Ore Express Way.

With funding support from the United State African Development Agency and Shell’s All-On, ACOB Lighting Technology Limited installed 120 units of 410W Jinko Monocrystalline solar panels, 1 unit of Schneider Electrics Grid Tie PV Inverter, 3 units of Schneider Electrics Conext Battery Inverters, 48 units of 2v, 2000Ah Hoppecke Deep Cycle Cycle Batteries and a 40kVA Diesel Generator.

The project has created over 4 direct jobs and 15 indirect jobs for the local people. The mini-grid network currently powers a total 490 connections that is 426 Households, 60 productive/commercial users, 3 schools and 1 Health Centre.

The electricity from the mini-grid will help small business have up to 30% cost savings on electricity. School pupils now have longer than 6 extra hours to study at night.
